Tramways Design
The design for a theater continues, with the old Tramways building being the site. A good response to the brief (what is theater) and to the context of South End in Port Elizabeth is vital to the outcome of this project.
This is so similar to the roller-coaster ride of design and the design process. The mixed feelings and emotions that go with designing, excitement, enthusiasm, doubt, confidence, relief, stress, suffering, love and most importantly self-satisfaction. Design should be a good intention with as little as self-satisfaction being the reward. Architects and urban designers need to be enthusiasts about the future of our society.

Lyric Theater, Belfast
A similar project in theater design as the brief for the "re-architecturing " of the Old Tramways building in Port Elizabeth into a theater. The response to the river and the nature of the site is vital in the design.

Mbongeni Buthulezi, a fine artist in South Africa. His methods of creating an alternative fine art product are creative and inventive. Mbongeni Buthulezi uses plastic, by melting it to create a painting without using any additional paint. The careful manipulation of the color placements of the plastics is what determines the end result. Mbongeni Buthulezi says in an interview that the message that he is trying to convey to South Africans is that one can literally build one's life out of nothing.

Brickwork of a retaining wall above the municipal building in Port Elizabeth. Through an unusual corrosion, the bricks have been erased, leaving the mortar behind, creating an interesting external brick skin.
